Tulane Rhodes should be on cloud nine. After years of hard work he's finally getting a chance to prove himself on the NASCAR circuit. So why is the rookie driver in such a foul mood? First of all, he just can't seem to win a race and secondly his sponsor - a diaper company - has painted his car pink and decorated it with their trademark logo which, of course, just has to be a cute little bunny. How in the heck is a good ol' boy with a bad reputation supposed to win a race in a pink bunny car? And when the corporate sponsor gets a little nervous about how Tulane's antics might affect their "family" image, what do they do? They send a tiny little redhead to assist him with his PR appearances. In other words, Tulane has got himself a babysitter...a darned cute babysitter.Sarah Murray is in way over her head and she knows it. As much as she wants to be a success at her job, she knows that she's just too "nice" to climb the corporate ladder. Sarah hopes that her "bad boy" client can help her to shed her "good girl" image, but spending time with Tulane and his family in tiny Last Chance, South Carolina has an unforeseen complication...Sarah finds herself falling for the NASCAR hottie.
Wow, what a lovely way to spend a late Summer afternoon! I really enjoyed this story, especially Tulane and his quirky family. Now it's not like I've never read a contemporary romance featuring a bad boy and the girl-next-door, but the author definitely put her own spin on the story. For one thing, Tulane's character is nicely developed and has far more depth than the typical `arrogant athlete' persona. Sarah is smart and appealing and their relationship seems to develop naturally over a period of time; it didn't feel forced or contrived. I loved Tulane's interactions with his family and enjoyed the good-natured humor. Really, this one hits all the right notes: believable dialog, great chemistry, and well developed characters. The storyline was well thought out and kept me thoroughly engaged and the pacing was right on target.
This is the second book in a series about the Rhodes siblings, the first is Welcome to Last Chance . If you enjoy sports themed romances like Susan Elizabeth Phillips' Chicago Stars series then this might appeal to you. Actually, this did remind me a bit of SEP's "Heaven, Texas", although not quite as steamy. There is occasional strong language and mild sexual content.

Good story. Like a Harlequin in lightness, no explicit sex details thank you, easy fast upbeat read.
No rocket science in the writing but good simple read. Follows the town of Last Chance, another heartwarming story that ends well.
Home at Last Chance is the second in a new series by Hope Ramsay and she has "done it again" with a very humorus romance between a reluctant man and a determined woman who knows what she wants even if she doesn't realize it at first. This is one of those books that is hard to put down. I'm looking forward to her next release. I know it'll be a fun read.

I feel like a portion of the story was missing! The story was built with Deidre and Steve and how they treated Sarah in her working world, then just dropped. Nothing was said to clear up that portion of the story. Did Steve win and keep his job by cheating? Were there no consequences? Did Deidre lose her job forever because her computer was hacked? Did Tulane continue racing? Was Sarah's work reputation ever cleared? I am confused!
Southern small town stand alone series. This romance between Sarah and Tulane has a slight bit of corporate back-biting. Enjoyable, believable characters, dialogue and story line.
I wish the author had developed Sarah's former bull-rider turned preacher father.
I will re-read this story and always look forward to more from from this author.
This is the 2nd book in the Last Chance series. I have purchased all the books in the series from for my Fire. It is a wonderful story about a small town in America and a family that wins your heart and you look forward to the next book being published. I would recommend this series for anyone who enjoys a heartwarming story and characters to go with it. I have enjoyed it so much I have read all the books a second time.
The characters were nice and the plot was good. The message was what is really important is loved ones. The story left a lot of unanswered questions about the guy who tried to get her fired, the women who fired and rehired her, Tulane's brother and sisters story. Most importantly how far do the main characters continue. Authors need to remember that endings are as important as beginnings.
Home at Last Chance was only okay. I loved the first book in the series and couldn't wait to get started on this one. But I just couldn't feel the connection between H/h. And the heroine was a bit self-serving in a non-plausible way so it took some effort to overcome that. My last critique -- and this is a big one there were LOTS of loose ends that were never tied up -- I echo each and every one of reviewer Confused's questions. The more I thought about it after finishing the book, the more this bothered me. That said, Tulane was a very appealing hero and that is what kept me reading. The town and it's quirky personalities were engaging and the writing was good. I'll read the next one but it will still be on the strength of the first book in this series, not because of this one!
